In March 2020, my undergraduate alma mater announced that they were sending students home for the rest of the semester. This was an unanticipated setback for students and soon-to-be graduates and I wanted to help. I reached out to the Alumni office and learned that students at Bowdoin, a Liberal Arts College that grants a BA degree, are increasingly interested in careers in high tech but do not have a clear pathway to connect them to appropriate opportunities. As a graduate who has had a long, successful career in this area, I volunteered to organize a panel discussion and recruited several of my colleagues to share their experiences and to offer tangible steps students can take now to prepare. Slides from our all-female tech panel, held in April 2020, are included above.
