This is a rare glimpse of UX copywriting in process. In this case, circa 2014, I worked with the product manager to create the copy for a promotion the team was running to encourage HTC phone users to install the app, a memory, storage, battery life and performance optimization tool. The copy review conventions shown here were ones that I established for use company-wide. In my tenure as copy lead, my team and I wrote and reviewed copy (strings) for thousands of mobile interfaces. Typically these reviews were “interstitial” parts of the product development process and the artifacts were rarely retained for posterity. Often times copy was batted back and forth in email, chat, whiteboard and video conference.
